THIS WEEK'S SUMMER BOPS

nielskuik – Phoenix

nielskuik crafts a progressive house triumph with 'Phoenix', a euphoric electronic anthem that soars with rare emotional intelligence

nielskuik

There is a moment about halfway through 'Phoenix' where everything just kinda lifts. nielskuik constructs the track layer by layer, letting dotted eighth note rhythms pulse beneath sweeping synth pads while the vocal, written and performed by an uncredited collaborator, floats above with real grace. The instrumental came first, and you can hear it: there's a real voice here, and the sound world does it justice. I love the string arrangements, and the synth work pulses in all the right ways. Euphoric progressive house, expansive and built with a whole lotta care.

nielskuik works from a home studio in Nieuw-Buinen, Netherlands, drawing heavily on the sound design philosophy of Deadmau5 while carving out his own lane in progressive house. He handles production himself, building tracks from the ground up with an ear for atmosphere and reward on repeat listens. 'Phoenix' marks a clear step forward in that approach. We are excited to hear where he takes this sound next, cos this one really flies.

Mannie Mims – OUTSIDE

Mannie Mims delivers a compelling UK rap statement for 2026, a crafted fusion of afrobeat warmth and trap grit that demands attention.

Mannie Mims

Confidence built from struggle sounds different. Mannie Mims opens 'OUTSIDE' with a declaration that lands hard, his delivery sharp and unhurried over production that weaves afrobeat rhythms through trap percussion. The beat really, really works and as a new father, I love the theme of fatherhood, ambition, and the daily work of becoming someone better. When the hook hits, it carries the weight of everything that came before it: years of building in private, now stepping into full view. Superb UK rap, authentic and fully realised.

Born Prince Marfo Anane, Mannie Mims grew up moving between the UK and Europe, absorbing influences that now run through every track he makes. His music sits at the intersection of street awareness and emotional honesty, aimed at listeners who are rebuilding, levelling up, or finding their footing. He has been building a following across TikTok, Instagram, and Audiomack with content that shows the discipline behind the music as much as the music itself. This single marks a new chapter for him: sharper sound, clearer vision, and a renewed commitment to his craft. We are very glad to have this artist on our radar. Great track.

Edwin Reiman – Love Again - Edwin Reiman Remix

Edwin Reiman's new banger is a brilliant slice of progressive house, euphoric and emotionally rich in equal measure.

Edwin Reiman

This one opens with atmosphere and builds from there. Reiman takes Aspyer's original and reimagines it through a progressive house lens, layering synths that shimmer without ever crowding the vocal. The breakdown is where it really shines, pulling everything back before the drop lands with proper weight. And that melodic hook? Yes you will be singing that one all week. There's a warmth running through the whole track, the kind that makes you want to hear it again before it's even finished. Superb vocal dance music, euphoric and expertly crafted.

Edwin Reiman is an electronic producer from the coastal town of Ystad in Sweden, and he's been carving out his own space in the progressive house scene. He cites Alesso as a key influence, and you can hear it in the way he prioritises emotion and ambience over simple dancefloor mechanics. This remix came from a competition for Aspyer's original, and Reiman clearly heard something in it worth chasing. This guy's definitely one to watch.

DS49 – THE FIRST

DS49's 'THE FIRST' is a hard-hitting debut EDM single from Poland, proving passion and late-night vibes make thrilling club music

DS49

'THE FIRST' opens with a bass drop that means business. DS49 has built something heavy here, layers of electronic melody stacking over a driving rhythm that never lets up. The production is perfectly tight, there's care with the synth lines, and I like the repeated mantra here. And that bass? It's doing serious work, anchoring the whole thing while the melodies swirl above. The hit hats shuffle well, and the whole thing is great vocal dance EDM, bold and fresh.

DS49 is the solo project of an independent producer from Lancut, Poland, who balances a demanding physical day job with late-night studio sessions. This debut single represents eighteen months of work, every note produced without ghost writers or outside help. At 49, he's proof that the love of club music doesn't fade with age, it just gets more focused. There's something genuinely inspiring about an artist who clocks out of one job and into another purely because the music demands it. We're really glad to have DS49 on our radar, and if this is the opening statement, we can't wait to hear what comes next.

DeGeA – Me Debes Un Beso

DeGeA's 'Me Debes Un Beso' is an irresistible slice of Latin pop, turning flirtation into a groove you can't shake

DeGeA

DeGeA knows exactly what he's doing here. 'Me Debes Un Beso' builds around one of those hooks that lodges itself in your brain and refuses to leave. It's a playful premise about a kiss owed turning into three minutes of pure summer energy. The production is warm and bright, reggaeton rhythms driving everything forward while the melodies sit right where they need to be. I love the light There's wit in the lyrics, a lightness that never tips into cheese, and the whole thing moves with an ease that makes it feel effortless. And that chorus? It's going to soundtrack a lot of car journeys and late nights this season. Brilliant Latin pop, catchy and completely assured.

DeGeA is a Spanish independent artist based in Las Palmas, blending Latin urban sounds with hooks that stick. He started making music at university more than three years ago, stepped away for a while, and came back about a year ago with a sharper sense of what he wanted the project to be. There's a real focus on storytelling here, on turning everyday feelings into lines that land, and 'Me Debes Un Beso' is proof the approach is working. We're really glad to have him on the blog, and if this is the direction he's heading? We'll be watching closely.
