Great Adamz – OMAHE OMAHO
Great Adamz channels Afropop warmth and euphoric group vocals into a summer belter.
"OMAHE OMAHO" opens with bright, infectious Afropop production before those soaring group vocals lift the whole thing skyward. It's got that tender, sunset groove that makes the best afrobeat standout. And Adamz delivers a message of grounded hope, urging listeners to keep believing even when life gets heavy. The hook is impossibly catchy, built for first-listen singalongs and sun-drenched afternoons. There's a joyful urgency to his vocal performance here, feeding off those inspirational melodies with real electricity. The accompanying video, shot in Nigeria, adds visual warmth to match the track's radiant spirit.
Born Great Adamatie in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, Great Adamz has become a rising force in UK Afrobeats from his base in Northampton. A MOBO Unsung Class of 2022 alum, he's scored five number ones on Music Week's Black Music Chart, including recent collabs with Manuel Riva. His 2025 deluxe album Blessed Boy hit number two on iTunes Nigeria and crossed 6.5 million streams. Awards including Golden Star Artist of the Year (Diaspora) confirm his growing impact. Essential afrobeat this summer.
judith owen – Inside Out
Judith Owen's 'Inside Out' is a joyful, gospel-kissed soul anthem, dripping with New Orleans spirit and impossible not to vibe to
This one hits you like sunshine through a window. 'Inside Out' opens with a groove that sits right in the pocket, warm brass textures and the Tonya Boyd-Cannon Choir lifting the whole thing skyward. It's a song about choosing joy, about self-discovery, and Owen's vocal delivery sells every word of it. There's old-school soul, gospel and jazz without ever feeling like a pastiche. And loads of space, which is one my fave elements. Brilliant New Orleans soul, warm and wholly uplifting.
Judith Owen is an acclaimed vocalist and songwriter whose work moves between jazz, blues, soul and big band with ease. She's based in New Orleans now, and you can hear the city all over this track. 'Inside Out' is taken from her album Suit Yourself, which has surpassed one million streams and features collaborations with Davell Crawford, Joe Bonamassa and Grammy Award-winning artist Jamison Ross, who co-wrote this single. It's groovy as hell, and exactly the feel-good soul we needed this post-summer period.
CODE 1144 – Happy In The Little Things
CODE 1144's 'Happy In The Little Things' is a warm, atmospheric alt-r&b gem that turns everyday gratitude into something genuinely moving
'Happy In The Little Things' opens with soft, layered textures that settle around you like a familiar room. The track is about exactly what it says: the quiet mornings, the voices you know, the small connective moments that hold a life together. I love it; and it grows with a lovely patience, letting atmospheric synths and subtle rhythmic elements breathe underneath a vocal that stays intimate. The last minute is the best thing on the track, a lovely breakdown before kicking into the last chorus. Lovely contemporary r&b, polished and emotionally generous.
CODE 1144 is an independent artist working out of Melbourne, shaping emotionally driven alternative pop with a cinematic edge. This release was built remotely with full creative direction from CODE 1144 alone, from lyrics and concept through to vocal approach and final production choices. The influences sit somewhere between the reflective warmth of Coldplay and the earthy reach of Hozier, but the sound stays distinctly personal. We're glad to come across this one in our musical mystery postbag, and hope there's more coming.
