THIS WEEK'S POP BOPS

Rosie Byron – You & Me

Rosie Byron's 'You & Me' is a gorgeous slice of alt-pop, an irresistible anthem for anyone who's ever found the world brighter with someone by their side.

Rosie Byron

Rosie Byron's 'You & Me' opens with warmth and doesn't let go. The production from BigBadBeats collaborators Tuomo and Tommi builds on bright synths and a steady pulse, giving Rosie's clear, confident vocal all the space it needs. This one's a wanderlust anthem, seeing new places through someone else's eyes and realising the company matters more than the destination. The chorus lifts, carrying that rush of possibility you get at these times. I love the summery vibe, and it's lvely alt-pop, bright and completely infectious.

Rosie hails from Walsall in the West Midlands, and she's been steadily building her catalogue since her first release back in 2020. She writes her own lyrics and handles vocals, with 'You & Me' recorded and mixed at Bay Ten Studios. Her music leans into positivity without ever feeling forced, a message of self-focus and happiness she's carried through a run of singles across the last few years. There's real energy here, and a dedication to crafting tunes that genuinely lift you up. It's bags of fun, and we hope there's more coming from Rosie this year.

Susan Mohini Kane – Ready For The Wonderful

Susan Mohini Kane's 'Ready For The Wonderful' is a gorgeous art pop anthem about choosing hope before the smoke has cleared, cinematic and emotionally rich

Susan Mohini Kane

Susan Mohini Kane asks a brave question here. How do you prepare for joy when you're still standing in the wreckage? She wrote 'Ready For The Wonderful' in the aftermath of the Eaton Fire, and you can hear both the grief and the reaching. The production is expansive, layered with classical textures and contemporary pop sensibilities that give the whole thing a theatrical sweep without ever tipping into melodrama. And that chorus? It lands. The vocal delivery is the standout here, carrying the emotional weight with just enough restraint to let the listener breathe alongside it. It's great art pop, tender and courageous in equal measure.

Susan Mohini Kane is based in Altadena and makes emotionally rich, story-driven music rooted in wonder and compassion. She trained classically, but her sound sits somewhere between cinematic indie pop and theatrical storytelling. You can hear the range in her influences, from classical music and global languages to contemporary pop, and the result feels both expansive and deeply personal. At the centre of it all is a simple belief in human dignity, and songs written for people finding their way back to hope. This one feels like exactly the right song at exactly the right moment, and we're really glad to have her on our radar.
