THIS WEEK'S INDIE POP BOPS

Samantha Rae – Gone Fishin' (For a Man)

Samantha Rae lands one of summer's most irresistible country singles with 'Gone Fishin' (For a Man)', a witty, hook-laden Americana gem you just have to hear

Samantha Rae

Samantha Rae casts her line with confidence on this one. 'Gone Fishin' (For a Man)' leans into its cheeky premise with a knowing wink and a warm, rolling groove that sits somewhere between classic country storytelling and modern pop polish. It's great. And her vocals carry that signature sultry edge, that draws you in. It threads humour carefully through every verse without ever losing the song's heart. The production is fantastic, and there's real craft in how this chorus soars in all the right ways. Brilliant country pop songwriting, playful and irresistibly catchy.

Samantha Rae works out of Kingston, New Hampshire, and she has been turning heads well beyond the local scene. She took home Country Artist of the Year at the 2025 Boston Music Awards and picked up five nominations at the Josie Independent Awards in Nashville, alongside a Best Original Song win at the Williamsburg Film and Music Awards. She co-writes and co-produces everything with her creative partner Jay DellIsola, and has shared stages with Cole Swindell, Parmalee, LoCash, and David Nail. An impressive CB, but it's this track that stands out for us. A full-length second album is on the way for early 2027, and we are genuinely excited to hear where she takes it next.

Daisy Howard – From the Outside Looking In

Daisy Howard's 'From the Outside Looking In' is a beautifully crafted dream pop single, melodic and warm with just the right touch of lo-fi sparkle

Daisy Howard

Daisy Howard's new single opens with guitar work that shimmers wonderfully. 'From the Outside Looking In' moves at its own pace, dreamy textures layered beneath vocals that sit gently on top of the crafted distortion. The song trades on nostalgia without drowning in it, and there's a steadiness to the arrangement that lets the emotional weight land clean. This one soars in the chorus: opening up in a kinda epic way that you don't often hear in this genre. Lovely dream pop, epic but also tender.

Daisy Howard is a British singer-songwriter originally from Littlehampton, now based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. She spent years collecting songs from late-night cafés, seaside towns and unfamiliar cities before settling down with producer Seagame Supradit to bring her debut album to life. This single follows earlier releases 'Saved' and 'On and On', all of them pointing toward a record that moves between folk-pop, rock and emotionally honest singer-songwriter territory. This one's a gem, and we cannot wait for more. A great single.
