Milyam – Dream
Milyam suspends dark, cinematic lyricism in space that never quite collapses. Art rap of real sophistication, picked up by BBC Introducing on 1Xtra.
"Dream" builds slowly from a rhythmic pulse into something larger. Milyam's production leans dark and cinematic without ever becoming airless: there is a definite space in the mix, a kind of looseness that keeps the atmosphere from collapsing under its own weight. Her lyricism operates in the gap between waking and dreaming, between what is real and what is desired, and she handles that space with the precision of someone who has thought carefully about where each line lands. The flow is strong, and the track has been on BBC Introducing on 1Xtra, and you can hear why: this is music with an international quality, sophisticated in both construction and delivery. But most of all, with loads and loads of character. It's great.
Milyam is a Los Angeles-based artist who has built international recognition through her sophisticated fusion of atmospheric sound and sultry vocal presence. Her single "Intimacy" reached Semi-Finalist status at the Unsigned Only 2026 Music Competition, while "Dream" caught the attention of BBC Introducing on 1Xtra. Superb atmospheric Art Rap, dark, cinematic, and fully realised.
Lil Sanga – Crocs with Socks
Lil Sanga's 'Crocs with Socks' is a fun slice of Australian party rap, turning questionable fashion into dancefloor joy
'Crocs with Socks' opens with a groove that knows exactly what it's here to do. The production is tight, funky, and unapologetically designed to get bodies moving, blending party energy with Macklemore-style playful rap delivery. It's bags of fun this one; a track that makes wearing socks with your Crocs feel like a statement of intent. And that hook? It really does stick. The beat pulls from funk and art pop without ever losing its accessibility, and Lil Sanga's delivery keeps things light, warm, and unpretentious. It's Australian dance rap, infectious and genuinely fun.
Lil Sanga is an emerging voice from Australia's east coast, connecting Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne with a fresh take on feel-good hip hop. This one's been years in the making, evolving from laptop recordings made while travelling internationally to polished sessions with producers Ben on the Gold Coast and Michael in Melbourne. The influences are clear, LMFAO's party-starter energy and Macklemore's storytelling wit, but there's a proudly Aussie character running through it all. With an album of similar music currently in development, this marks the start of something bigger. We're very excited to see where this goes.
Hardy White – Alabama Girrl
Hardy White's 'Alabama Girrl' is a swagger-filled country rock crossover, blending Southern grit with hip-hop attitude for a fun genre mashup
Hardy White opens 'Alabama Girrl' with a stomp and a drawl, and it doesn't let up from there. The track is a full-tilt anthem about reinvention, a woman trading one life for another with new boots and a new ZIP code to match. The production has big rock guitars while R&B grooves and hip-hop swagger thread through the verses, giving the whole thing a rolling, infectious energy. And that hook? It lands exactly where it needs to. White's vocal delivery sits right in the pocket, confident and charismatic, selling every line about self-made transformation. Brilliant genre-blending country rock, bold and irresistible.
Hardy White is a Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter with roots in Dallas and formative years in Iowa, and that mix of Southern tradition and Midwestern grit comes through in everything he does. He started out at a rural Iowa recording studio, soaking up the energy of working musicians, and has since built a sound that pulls from gospel, country, classic rock and R&B in equal measure. Known as the Charismatic Cowboy of Music, he brings serious presence to both his recordings and his live shows. He's now signed to Hygh Tension Records in partnership with Virgin Music Group, with WCCO and CBS Minnesota already previewing this single and a national radio campaign rolling out behind it. We're really excited to have him on our radar.
Royce J – Frequently
Royce J's 'Frequently' is an assured hip-hop stunner, layering church-choir textures beneath confident, laid-back delivery
'Frequently' opens unhurried and stays there. Royce J rides Ricandthaedeus's hazy production with a delivery that never strains for attention but earns it anyway. The track pivots on its vocal arrangement: stacked harmonies that draw from gospel tradition rise beneath the lead, turning what could have been a simple flex into something with genuine emotional weight. Lyrically, it moves through attraction and lifestyle with the ease of someone who has stopped trying to prove anything. I love the cute synth counter-melodies in this, but it's the hook that stands out here. Excellent atmospheric trap, confident and richly textured.
Royce J is a Kansas City artist who handles his own writing, engineering and mixing from a home setup running FL Studio. Under his production alias Flight Beatz, he has built connections that run deep into the scene, working with Master P, Big Court and Grammy-winning producer BlaqNmilD on tracks including 'Rich'. With new material ready and another run of live dates on the horizon, we are very glad to have this artist on our radar. This one's great.
Noone – C'est La Vie
Noone's 'C'est La Vie' is a lovely taste of Melbourne hip-hop single, matching aggressive production with dark-pop to great effect
Dean Miller's instrumental came loaded with attitude, and Noone meets it head on. 'C'est La Vie' launches in with punches before we're even through the first eight bars. The key ingredients? Dark wave textures, genuine venom and a compelling pivot between anger and exposure. This is a song about choosing not to mirror the negativity thrown at you, about mastering your own reactions when everything around you demands otherwise. The balance between fierce delivery and vulnerability never tips too far either direction. Excellent dark hip-hop, aggressive and emotionally honest in equal measure.
Noone has spent a decade building material alongside producer Dean Miller, developing a sound that draws from the unflinching attitude of artists like Eminem while staying rooted in something personal. Based in Melbourne, he sat on a substantial catalogue of unreleased work for years before committing to a monthly release schedule. That shift came from finally trusting the vision he had been refining all along. I love the approach, and if the rest is this good? Let the floodgates open.
