Shane Parish just surprise dropped a new album, and the title says it all: Dental Work, out today to help pay for, you guessed it, dental work.
The six-string wizard has been on a tear lately. We've covered his acoustic translations of Autechre and Aphex Twin, those strange and gorgeous experiments that turn electronic knots into fingerpicked gems. He's also been ripping through the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet, bending the instrument into shapes most players never dream up.
We caught him last month at Philadelphia's Making Time ∞ festival, where it turned out he was wrestling with some health concerns. Now the story clicks into place.
So here's a record born out of necessity, a gorgeous reminder that independent artists hustle for every dollar. Expect the same adventurous playing that made his catalog so rewarding. Expect something personal.
If you've ever leaned on a Parish track, this is the moment to show up for him. Grab Dental Work. Help fix the teeth.
